The Client: Amorim Cork – part of Corticeira Amorim, the world’s largest cork processing group
Product: PowerBI Robots – Automated Power BI Report & Dashboard Distribution
1. The problem
Amorim’s shop floor already had a head start. Since 2022, production KPIs had been streaming to smart TVs across the factory, first through PowerBI Portal. Getting that same visibility to everyone else, commercial teams, controllers, leadership, and external sales partners who aren’t even on Amorim’s payroll, was a different challenge entirely.
Power BI is built for interactive analytics, and that works well for people who live inside a dashboard every day. But native subscriptions can’t reach anyone outside the organisation, and not every audience wants to work inside a dashboard at all. Amorim’s roughly 40-strong commercial team is a good example: what they needed was simple, the numbers that mattered to them, delivered somewhere they’d actually check, not a new tool to learn.
2. The fix
Amorim’s answer wasn’t to replace Power BI, but to extend it. PowerBI Robots, DevScope’s report automation engine, now complements Power BI in two very different places.
On the factory floor, 40 to 50 smart TVs cycle through near real-time production dashboards, refreshed automatically so operators can see, within 30 to 45 minutes, exactly what they’re producing, what they’re consuming, and whether they’re hitting target.
In the inbox, Robots quietly does the rest. PDF and Excel reports, filtered and personalised using Power BI bookmarks so each recipient only ever sees their own numbers, go out daily, monthly or annually, straight to management, controllers, and commercial partners both inside and outside the company.
3. The payoff
Three years in, the numbers tell a clear story: shop-floor reach, between 400 and 500 operators across roughly 78 production units check live dashboards, cutting the wait for production data from a full day down to as little as 30 to 45 minutes. Reporting reach, another 100 to 200 people, spanning leadership, controllers and commercial partners, receive Robots-generated reports automatically, with no manual work on Amorim’s side. The right format for everyone, the commercial team, and external partners who could never be added to Power BI directly, get their numbers automatically, in a PDF or Excel file rather than a dashboard they’d have to learn. And speed, reports get reconfigured and TV playlists redeployed in minutes, not days.
4. Why Amorim keeps choosing DevScope
Amorim didn’t just adopt PowerBI Robots and stop there. When they piloted PowerBI Portal and found it roughly three times pricier to run, DevScope worked with them to convert that investment straight into an extended Robots licence, no friction, no lost value.
That flexibility, paired with fast turnaround on support tickets, is what Amorim credits for a partnership that began in 2022 and keeps growing, with more of the business already lined up to run through Robots next.
"What DevScope brought us was flexibility and agility: the kind that helps us solve the day-to-day issues we couldn’t get past on our own. This product met a real need we had, and it was a clear fit for us."
